2007 Hall of Fame Inductee
Lee Fitzgerald - for Meritorious Service |
Born in West Los
Angeles, Lee grew up in the San Fernando Valley. She was
introduced to bowling in an after-school program when Canoga Park
Bowl first opened. Lee is married to John and they have 2
sons, all of whom bowl. Lee joins her husband in the Hall of
Fame as he was inducted in 2004.
In 1983 Lee was asked
by Russ Begany at San Hi to help out with the youth program as the
coaches weren't going to be there. That started it, as she
continued to coach on Saturday mornings at San Hi until 2002 when
they closed their doors and she moved over to take over the youth
program at Del Rosa Lanes, still there. Lee holds various
coaching titles including the newest name of USBC Level II.
Lee's all-time best scores are a 279 game and a 701 series. Le
states, "the certificates state she knows how to coach, but do not
say she knows how to bowl."
1992-2003 Lee was on
the Citrus Belt Women's Board holding various positions. She
was Citrus Belt Youth Secretary from 1994 until the merge in 2005 at
which time she was also the Citrus Belt Women's Secretary/Treasurer.
She also served as Citrus Belt Association Manager.
Congratulations to Lee
Fitzgerald on a well-deserved honor.
