HALL OF FAME - Chuck
Taylor
|
2007 Hall of Fame
Inductee Chuck Taylor |
Chuck was born in 1924
and started the 1967-68 season with a perfect 300 game. That
wasn't enough for Chuck as he continued rolling strikes and finished
the first night of the new season with a 715 series. This was
preceded with the record high average of 212 for the 1966-67
season, tied with Raule Flood.
In the Citrus Belt All
Star Traveling League, he broke the record for high series with an
outstanding performance at Tava Lanes with scores of 245-246-244 for
a 735 series. This was the same year his team had an all-time high
single game of 1023.
Continuing to break
records, his team was top performer at San Hi Lanes with games of
1017, 1012 and 1021.
Now some of this may
not seem great today, but remember... Chuck broke these records and
rolled his perfect game in the 1960s and '70s when we didn't carry
10 bowling balls, one for every lane type we came across, and
perfect games were a rare commodity indeed.
At 83 years young,
Chuck continues to bowl 2 leagues per week.
Congratulations on a
very well-deserved honor!
